Vinc Pichel Talks Gregor Gillespie Matchup & Says He’s Happy for Ronda Rousey In WWE

Vinc Pichel is back in action and in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Utica, where he faces Gregor Gillespie.
Not only does Pichel plan on making a bigger name for himself with the big co-main event opportunity on June 1, but the fighter plans on doing so in spectacular fashion.
“I’m gonna knock the son of a bitch out, I’m looking for a big KO man. I’m looking for a big bonus, I got cheated out of my bonus in New Zealand from Dan Hooker…that son of a bitch. I’m looking for a knockout bonus, I’m getting a lot of slack from this guy. People telling me ‘what are you gonna do? He’s a wrestler and he’s done this and he’s done that.’ I’m like who gives a f*ck what he’s done, he’s an NCAA champion, I don’t know how many times, but I’m like ‘this is an MMA fight man.’ A lot of people are doubting me in this fight and I cannot wait to make them eat their words, I’ve had friends tell me to pull out of this fight and I shouldn’t have taken this fight. I’m like ‘what the f*ck man and thanks ..

Roman Reigns Has Talked To The Usos About Forming A Team

Roman Reigns thinks teaming with the Usos would be cool.
In an interview with Give Me Sport, Roman Reigns spoke about his cousins Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso. He said the Usos asked for more responsibility from WWE after feeling left behind and disrespected. He was also asked about teaming up with the Usos.
“I’ve been around my cousins a long time. And for a while, we’ve been waiting for that. And I’ve had a lot of talks with them,” said Reigns.
Even though his cousins were able to ask the WWE for a bigger role and changed their characters, Reigns said he wanted to do things his way. But he admitted it would be cool to represent his family with the Usos.
“And I’m excited not only to see where they go but also where I go. You never know, the story is there, it's easy. We all represent the same bloodline, we all represent the same family, so it would be pretty cool maybe one day if…if there was a Samoan Shield,” said Reigns.
Also during the interview, Reigns talked about poten..

OFF THE TRACKS WITH SRS: Stokely Hathaway Tries To Cut Matt Riddle’s Hair, Gets Fingers Broken Instead — BUT WHY?

Welcome to OFF THE TRACKS WITH SRS. The article I write on slow news days and shamelessly steal Alex Pawlowski's theme, because he's better established the series than I. Today we look at Stokely Hathaway's latest attempt to thwart his arch nemesis Matt Riddle. Was it jealousy? Greed? Anger? What was Big Stoke's motivation in trying to commit this crime? I have a theory:
***
It hasn't been a loaded week of wrestling news. However, Stokely Hathaway looked to change that.
While at this weekend's EVOLVE shows, manager extraordinaire Stokely Hathaway posted a photo indicating that he would cut Matt Riddle's signature locks if he managed to get to 500 retweets. See exhibit A below.
500 RTs and I’ll cut homeboy’s hair tomorrow. I’m serious. pic.twitter.com/GxFpbuzWhS

Stokely ended up working himself into a shoot, as the tweet got the minimum required retweets during Sunday's show. When Hathaway a..

Report: WWE Reaches Deal With Fox To Air Smackdown In 2019, Worth $1 Billion, Maybe Moving To Fridays

Smackdown may have a new home next year.
As reported by ESPN, Fox and WWE have reached a “massive” deal to air Smackdown. WWE has been looking for a new network to air both Smackdown and Raw and there had been talks of bringing both to NBC but according to the report NBC Universal is focused on Monday Night Raw.
Even though ratings for Smackdown have been declining since the Superstar Shakeup, WWE programming is nearly always in the top five cable original shows year round on Monday and Tuesdays. The live aspect and sports related nature of Smackdown has helped support those ratings and is only pushed down the rankings by live sports playoffs.
The report said the Smackdown deal is set to begin in October of 2019.
In another report by The Wrap, it was said Smackdown would be broadcast on Fridays and on Fox instead of the rumored Fox Sports.
That was hardly the last of the news, as The Hollywood Reporter would later report that the deal in question was a five-year agreement wor..

Mackenzie Dern Also Gave Amanda Cooper 15% Of Her Win Bonus

Mackenzie Dern missed weight by seven pounds for her bout against Amanda Cooper at UFC 224, a miss that caused the fighter to be fined 30% of her fight purse.
The Brazilian won the bout via first round submission and got a win bonus as a result, but 15% of that also went to the defeated Cooper.
“I’m not surprised. She got 30 percent of the purse, which was my penalty — usually it’s only 20 percent, but because I was so much heavier it went up to 30 percent,” Dern said on The MMA Hour. “I think she was confident in the fight. I think she thought she was going to win and everything. If I was confident and I was getting 30 percent and we were giving her an extra 15 percent too — if I won I would give her 15 percent of the bonus extra too — I would have accepted the fight too. I was hoping she would. I was really grateful she accepted the fight,”
After all the craziness surrounding the missed weight at UFC 224, one thing Dern is promising is that she won’t be missing weight anymore.

Matt Sydal Says Lucha Underground Is Modern Wrestling Society X

WWE, ROH, and NJPW veteran, and Impact Wrestling star Matt Sydal recently spoke to Wrestling Epicenter's Interactive Wrestling Radio. You can see highlights below, and the full interview at this link.
Being X Division Champion:
“I can tell you this about this belt. I'm attached to it. It's attached to me.”
Every wrestler now working what was considered the “X Division” Style in 2002:
“Well, I think that if everybody is doing that style then there are a few people who truly embody it and everybody else is just an immitator. What you have is a bunch of people who will forever be my challengers and somebody like me who truly embodies the OG, the original stylings of the X Division. That's me. I am that man! Of course the X Division title found me. Yeah, the belt has been through a lot of incarnations. But, what it has is a lineage that you can stand behind. A lineage that you can believe in. A lineage that is what wrestling is today. I am NOT like any other wrestler…

Tetsuya Naito Explains Why He Does Not Wear The IWGP Intercontinental Title, And Talks His Issues With Chris Jericho

Naito minces no words about his dislike for Chris Jericho.
The tranquilo Tetsuya Naito keeps his cool throughout the toughest of situations but what took place during night two of NJPW's 'Wrestling Dontaku' event was the straw that broke that camels back. As Naito exited the ring after receiving admiration from the Fukuoka faithful in attendance he was attacked by a “fan” who was wearing a 'Bushi' mask. That “fan” turned out to be former nine-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho who was last seen in NJPW when he attacked Naito from behind at 'New Years Dash' the day after Wrestle Kingdom 12. Prior to their first encounter Naito voiced his opinion on Chris Jericho coming into the company and stealing spotlight away from his main event match against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom.
The bad blood between the two men will peak on June 9th at NJPW's 'Dominion' event as Chris Jericho will make his in-ring return to the compan..
