Asuka won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, last eliminating Carmella, to earn the right to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 39. The match also included Liv Morgan, Natalya, Raquel Rodriguez and Nikki Cross. Belair and Asuka have had two televised singles matches in the past, with Belair winning one and the other going to a no contest. There is no word on which night of WrestleMania the match will take place.

Opinion: This is an interesting way to go as it is certainly a fresh match and feels like an interesting showdown, though I’m not completely sure how much it feels like a WrestleMania match. Then again, Asuka has undergone a bit of a transformation and seeing this new version on the big stage could be a lot of fun. If nothing else, it’s nice to have the title match announced and now we can get closer to seeing it happen.
