Bobby Roode Appears In ‘New’ Global Force Wrestling Video
What’s Bobby Roode Doing In GFW?
Bobby Roode will appear in the first-ever episode of Global Force Wrestling’s (GFW) “Amped” anthology series next month. No, Roode did not leave WWE. The “Amped” series were filmed in 2015, prior to Roode signing with WWE. GFW, however, posted a preview video on Tuesday of their upcoming anthology series and it features the current WWE NXT Champion. In the 45-second clip for the August 11 episode on pay per view, Roode is shown entering the Las Vegas arena to a positive crowd response.
It’s unknown when the commentary was recorded — if it was done live in 2015 or recorded recently. It’s quite unique to note a statement from the commentary:
“When you take a look at the background, the history of Bobby Roode, what he’s done for this business, he’s welcomed in any promotion and how exciting is it that he’s here for the first-ever episode for GFW Amped.”
The fact they referenced Roode was “welcomed in any promotion” could be an indication that GFW is fine with viewers knowing he’s currently signed with WWE.
What Is GFW “Amped?”
As Top Rope Press reported earlier this month, GFW filmed a handful of episodes in 2015, but it never aired on television. Since GFW merged with Impact Wrestling, the unaired episodes will finally air under the One Night Only umbrella. Starting August 11, the first of four One Night Only: GFW Amped episodes will air on pay per view.
Roode won’t be the only familiar WWE figure in the GFW episodes. RAW’s Mickie James, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Curt Hawkins and SmackDown’s The Singh Brothers were part of the tapings in 2015.
GFW also uploaded the first five minutes of the first Amped episode on Monday.
