Two Names Released From NXT Contracts

Two more out the door. One of the most interesting things about WWE is when they sign someone new. You’ll often see a big name debuting for NXT at one of their Takeover shows and it’s always going to create an uproar. However, there’s also the other side of the spectrum, with a pair of releases. That’s the case today.
Here’s one of the releases in action.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, both Sage Beckett and Abbey Laith have been released from their NXT contracts. Both appeared in last year’s Mae Young Classic and have been sparingly used on “NXT” TV since. Laith wrestled on the independent circuit as Kimber Lee and Beckett formerly appeared in Impact Wrestling as Rosie Lottalove before losing over 100lbs. You can read this week’s “NXT” Results here.
Opinion: Really, this isn’t the biggest surprise. Since the Mae Young Classic, both have barely appeared on “NXT” and it’s not like they were stars. It was nice to have them around for ..

Backstage News On the Plans For “The Ultimate Deletion”

It was previously reported that Matt Hardy has challenged Bray Wyatt to a match at the “Hardy Compound,” which is being referred to as “The Ultimate Deletion.” The challenge occurred on this past week’s episode of “Raw,” which you can see below:

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is for the match to occur on “Raw” as opposed to WrestleMania. The reason for that is because although the matches that were done at the Hardy Compound in TNA drew a lot of interest, the Hardys were the focal point of TNA at that time. This is not necessarily the case in WWE.
In addition, if Jeff Hardy returns in time, there is talk of a match between The Hardys and Sheamus & Cesaro at WrestleMania for the “Raw” Tag Team titles.
There are currently no plans for The Bar to have a match at WrestleMania.
Editor’s Opinion:
I could see this going both ways. While it could be tricky to have a pre-taped segment occur ..

Backstage News on the Plans For Brock Lesnar Going Into WrestleMania; What’s The Angle?

It has been previously reported that Roman Reigns will be challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. There have been rumors that “The Beast” is planning to leave WWE after WrestleMania in order to make his return to UFC. How is this effecting what the plan for the champion is heading into the biggest show of the year?
The feud between Reigns and Lesnar is heating up, which you can see from “The Big Dog’s” interaction with Paul Heyman this past week on “Raw:”

According to the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning to have the storyline be that Lesnar is, in fact, leaving and that he is being downplayed on the way out, so it won’t come across as such a big loss.
They are wanting to create a situation where the fans celebrate his departure.
In addition, the company is to try and get a babyface reaction for Reigns as the guy who beats Lesnar and sends him off into t..

Update on Bobby Fish, How Long Will He Be Out?

Fish out of the ring. Injuries can be devastating to a wrestler’s career and this one happened at a terrible time. Earlier this month, Bobby Fish, one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, injured his knee at an NXT house show. It was clear that he would miss ring time, but now we know how long.
Here’s what a healthy Fish can do.

According to F4Wonline.com by way of Wrestlinginc.com, Bobby Fish underwent surgery today to repair minor tears in both his ACL and MCL. This injury will put Fish out of action for about six months. At the moment, Fish is scheduled to defend the NXT Tag Team Titles at “Takeover: New Orleans”. There is no word on what will happen to the title match. Here’s one of Fish’s best performances in NXT.
Opinion: Well dang. I’m not sure how they’re going to handle this at “Takeover”, unless there’s a new partner to help Kyle O’Reilly. Either that or they’ll just have O’Reilly fight by himself for the most part with Fish be..

Update on the Bar’s “Wrestlemania” Plans

They are the bench warmers? I remember being at the “Monday Night Raw” when Sheamus and Cesaro were put together. To put it mildly, I wasn’t a fan of the idea. Since then, the team has become one of the better acts on “Monday Night Raw” as they’ve completely found their groove as the Bar. That groove might not be enough for them at the moment though.
They’re good enough for this though.

According to F4Wonline.com by way of Wrestlinginc.com, the Bar is currently not scheduled to have a match at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. They may be part of an angle, though plans may change. At the moment, the Bar has issued an open challenge for the show after defeating most of the current teams on “Monday Night Raw”. Opinion: After everything they’ve done, I would certainly hope that the Bar gets their chance at “Wrestlemania”. Sure they’ve had a match there before, but they’ve earned the right to have a big feature presentation. I really hope they don’t get..

Cesaro: “I Think Every Person That Brings a Beach Ball Into a WWE Arena Should Get Ejected for Life”

Cesaro was recently interviewed by City Pages to promote WWE’s upcoming show in Minneapolis, Minnesota this Friday. He discussed a number of topics, including Tag Team wrestling, beach balls, his place in the company and more. Below are some questions, along with the “Swiss Superstar’s” answers:
CP: You’re a record five-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion, and before coming to WWE, you were renowned for your work in the indies as a tag team specialist. Why is it that you excel in tag team wrestling specifically?
Cesaro: I’m really good, and I bring the best out of every single person in the ring. Especially my tag team partners.
CP: How is the mentality different when you’re wrestling in a tag team versus in singles competition?
Cesaro: You have to depend on somebody the whole time as well. You can’t be selfish and just worry about yourself because there’s somebody else with you. Of course, it’s an added benefit when you have someone like Sheamus, who is a world-class Superstar, with yo..

Major Change Coming to NXT Next Month (Contains Spoiler)

One more for the pile. While the main roster shows seem to have one change after another, “NXT” has managed to find a very solid balance for itself over the last few years. With its three titles, things have settled into a status quo that works very well and rarely changes. Now though, a big change is coming.
You might want to get to know this guy first.

The first champion will be crowned in a six man ladder match contested between Velveteen Dream, EC3, Ricochet, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan and Adam Cole. Opinion: Well it’s different than another tournament. I had been wondering how all these names would fit into the upcoming “Takeover” card and thi..

KB’s Review: This Is 205 Live

Earlier this year, Enzo Amore was released from WWE, leaving the Cruiserweight Title vacant. This was the latest issue for “205 Live”, which has gone through a long list of problems since the show debuted a little over a year ago. We’re now on to another new era for “205 Live” and that means more changes are taking place. This time though, it seems that things are actually starting to work. In case you haven’t seen it, here’s a recent episode of the show.
Instead of the stories and uninteresting wrestling, the last six weeks have been ALL about the action, with sixteen wrestlers taking part in a tournament to crown the new Cruiserweight Champion. This has made for a heck of a start to 2018, with nothing even resembling a bad match and a streamlined version of the show. Today we’re going to take a quick look at why this is working so well and how WWE can hopefully keep this going as we move forward.
We’ll start with the biggest deal of all: the wrestling. When the show was almost lite..
