SmackDown Live WWE Title Match

The match was just announced a few hours ago, and already, there’s speculation on why WWE is choosing to do a WWE World Title match between Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles on next week’s SmackDown Live.

It’s being said that one reason the match could be happening on Tuesday’s show is that people aren’t all that thrilled about the Jinder Mahal/Brock Lesnar match that’s been announced for Survivor Series, and WWE may put the title on AJ to get better press for the show. Or, the rumors about Jinder Mahal working hurt are true (though he denies it), and WWE needs to get the title off of him. Or, WWE may have looked at the dismal ratings for this week’s show and decided to scrap the AJ/Rusev match that was already announced and go with something bigger.

More than likely, it’s the ratings reason, and WWE probably has zero plans to take the title off of Jinder. They just want some buzz heading into next week’s show.

Asuka Tops The PWI Female 50 List

PWI released their list for the best 50 female wrestlers in the world today, and Asuka is landed at the top of this year’s list. PWI is known for sticking to mainly kayfabe, storylines, and visibility when it comes to both their men’s and women’s list every year, so it was a nice surprise to see some Joshi stars making this year’s top fifteen.

The top fifteen on this year’s list are:

  1. Asuka
  2. Charlotte
  3. Alexa Bliss
  4. Sasha Banks
  5. Bayley
  6. Io Shirai
  7. Natalya
  8. Sienna
  9. Naomi
  10. Kairi Sane
  11. Mercedes Martinez
  12. Shayna Baszler
  13. Rosemary
  14. Lufisto
  15. Mayu Iwatani
