BREAKING: WWE Releases Twelve More Wrestlers

There they go again. The biggest story of the year for WWE has been the string of releases from the company. All kinds of wrestlers have been let go from the promotion and several of them have been incredibly surprising. The wrestlers have come from all over the company’s rosters and that seems to be the case again, with several more wrestlers being let go.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, WWE has released another list of wrestlers, with most of them being from NXT. Names released so far include Bronson Reed, Tyler Rust, Leon Ruff, Mercedes Martinez, Bobby Fish, Ari Sterling, Jake Atlas, Kona Reeves, Zechariah Smith, Asher Hale, Giant Zanjeer and Stephon Smith (referee). There is no word on if there will be any more releases for the moment.

Opinion: What do you even say to this? How many wrestlers can WWE let go in one year? The interesting thing here is that aside from Reed, Fish and arguably Martinez, this is mainly a lot of lower level people, including several from 205 Live. I can understand cutting a lot of them for financial reasons, but Fish was in a match on this week’s NXT and Reed was working dark matches before the main roster shows last month. It makes you wonder how long it will be before other people go, and that’s rather scary for some.
