Update On Keith Lee’s Absence From WWE TV

That clears a few things up. Sometimes in wrestling, you see things that do not have an explanation. This can be rather frustrating as you want to know what is going on but for one reason or another, there is no information available. It can lead to some interesting speculation, but finding out what is going on can clear up a lot of things. That seems to be the case again.
Keith Lee has not been seen on WWE television since February and has only made a single appearance on any WWE platform since early April. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has not medically cleared him to wrestle for an undisclosed reason. Lee has decided to keep his situation private, though earlier this week he suggested that he would explain the situation soon. There is no word on when Lee will be back on television.
Lee was called up to the main roster in August 2020 and has seen limited success. While he has had a handful of high profile matches, his lone pay per view singles victory came at ..

Interesting Reason For WWE Changing Summerslam Scheduling

It’s a different way to go. The big story in WWE at the moment is the return of fans to live events. This has allowed WWE to start moving things back to normal, which includes getting ready for some of their bigger shows of the year. One of those shows is Summerslam, which will be doing things a little bit differently this time. Now we know more about why.
Earlier this week, WWE announced that this year’s Summerslam will air on Saturday, August 21, marking the first time the show has ever aired on a Saturday. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE made the move because the desired venue for the show, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, wanted the show on a Saturday. However, WWE made the announcement without mentioning a location. The biggest problem with the show being held in Las Vegas is a Manny Pacquiao boxing match being held in Las Vegas on the same night. Summerslam’s location will be announced on June 5.

RUMOR: WWE Eyeing Celebrity As Summerslam Guest Host

It could help things. Celebrities have been part of wrestling forever and that has certainly been the case in WWE. WrestleMania was at least partially built on the amount of celebrity appearances at the event and WWE has used the same pattern for years. It makes a lot of sense to go this way, and it seems that the same sense will be applied this year at Summerslam.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, singer Cardi B. will be the guest host of this year’s Summerslam. There is no word on what Cardi B. will be doing at the show or if she will be performing. WWE has yet to confirm the announcement. This comes after Cardi B. had a Twitter exchange with Lacey Evans earlier this year, which led to speculation over a possible WrestleMania appearance which did not take place. Summerslam will be held on August 21 in a location to be announced next week.
I can confirm that I was told cardi b is the host for SummerSlam this year. pic.twitter.com/jNQmEMSbjJ

Surprising Backstage Update On Michael Cole

I’d say he has earned it. There are certain people who have been around WWE for a very long time and it is hard to imagine the company without them. That might not mean they are the most popular, but it does make them a major part of the promotion. One of those names has been around for over twenty years and is apparently starting to get more positive recognition.
According to Fightful Select, the WWE locker room has recently become more appreciative of Michael Cole. This includes Cole making a mistake in the main event of the first night of WrestleMania, when he said that Sasha Banks kicked out rather than being pinned by Bianca Belair. The incident was viewed as nothing more than a mistake and everyone moved on, including Cole. This comes amid recent changes to the Monday Night Raw broadcast team.
Cole really is good at what he does. Check out some of his moments in WWE:

Kurt Angle Teases Coming Out Of Retirement

One more time? Wrestling is a unique sport in that retirements do not exactly carry the most weight. There have been countless instances of a wrestler hanging up their boots and then coming back later on for either one more match or even one more run. That is not the worst problem to have, but it is rarely a special feeling. Now another legend is teasing trying it again.
Kurt Angle has sent out a tweet saying that the rumors of John Cena returning to WWE have him thinking about his own retirement. Included is a clip saying “so you’re telling me there’s a chance”. Angle, 52, wrestled his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 in a loss to Baron Corbin. Should he return, it is not clear where he would wrestle, after being released from WWE last year.
Angle debuted for WWE in 1999 and worked for the company until 2006, when he requested his release and left for TNA Wrestling. Following a ten year run with the promotion, Angle returned to WWE, where he stayed for three more years, including..

REVIEW: Hell In A Cell 2017: Shane McMahon Does Something Stupid

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be?

AEW Broadcaster Caught Using Racial Stereotype On Hot Mic

That won’t go well. Sometimes, a mistake is made in wrestling, just like in anything else. This can be something big or small, but the situation can be made even worse if it is heard by the masses. Sometimes there is no way around it though and that might be the case again, as a member of a wrestling announce team was overheard saying something that will not be well received.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Hikaru Shida came to the ring for an interview. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Willie Urbina, part of the Spanish broadcast team, was asked to translate what Shida said but mocked her accent in a stereotypical Japanese tone. Fellow broadcaster Dasha Gonzalez gave an awkward laugh and told Ubrina to “shut up” while Thunder Rosa defended Shida’s English and called Urbina “bad”. AEW has not commented on the situation.
Shida was in the ring to discuss her year plus long reign as AEW Women’s Champion. She was also presented by a newly designed title belt, as given to her by..

Play It Again? Interesting Note On New SmackDown Name

Play it again? Entrance music is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s complete presentation. The right entrance music can make a wrestler but the wrong music could break them, which is a lesson that WWE has only kind of learned over the years. There are several ways to present any wrestler’s music, and now WWE might be trying something else.
Last week on SmackDown, NXT’s Rick Boogs debuted, playing Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme music. Boogs was back this week and played the song again, along with attacking King Corbin. WWE has sent out a tweet, asking fans which wrestler’s theme song Boogs should perform next, suggesting that there may be more to come in the future. There has been no mention of such a change on WWE TV.

Here’s Why Aleister Black And Big E. Were Not On SmackDown

Where did they get to? With so many people on the WWE roster at any given time, it can be kind of hard to keep track of all of them. At some point, someone is going to get lost in the shuffle, which can be rather annoying to a lot of fans. That means it can be very satisfying to see them return, but sometimes they go away just as quickly. It seemed like that was the case this week, but now we have an idea of what happened.
Last week on SmackDown, Aleister Black made his return to the arena to attack Big E., costing him the Intercontinental Title in the process. However, neither of them appeared in any way on this week’s edition of SmackDown. According to PWInsider.com, this was done intentionally, for the sake of letting the story build rather than rushing through it. Both men were present at this week’s SmackDown.
These two could be in for something good. Check out what they can do:

WWE Announces Stacked SmackDown With Two Title Matches

The night of gold. Title matches make for a pretty easy draw in professional wrestling. Putting a champion in the ring for a title defense is going to get people watching almost every time, as both full time and part time fans are interested in seeing possible history being made. That is going to be the case next week, but in an even bigger way than you usually see.
WWE has announced two title matches for next week’s edition of SmackDown. First up, the Usos will receive a Tag Team Title shot against Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio. The Usos defeated the Street Profits to open the show and requested a title match against the winners of the main event. The Mysterios then retained their titles over Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, followed by a staredown with the Usos.
Second, Apollo Crews will defend the Intercontinental Title against Kevin Owens, with Commander Azeez banned from ringside. Owens faced Crews in a non-title match but Azeez interfered for the disqualification, injuring O..
